Ever had one of those days where you just need something chocolatey, but don’t want to wreck your clean eating vibe?
That’s exactly what got me experimenting in my kitchen. I wanted something rich, fudgy, and completely gluten-free—without hauling out a mountain of ingredients.
After a few tries (and lots of taste-testing), I nailed this super simple, 3-ingredient brownie recipe. It’s healthy enough to snack on but indulgent enough to satisfy any chocolate craving.
Tips for Perfect Brownies
- Want extra sweetness? Add a tablespoon of honey or maple syrup if your bananas aren’t super ripe.
- Nut allergy? Swap the almond butter for sunflower seed butter or tahini.
- For added crunch, sprinkle in some chopped walnuts or dark chocolate chips before baking.
- Presentation hack: Dust the cooled brownies with a little extra cocoa powder for that fancy look.
Serving Suggestions
These brownies are killer on their own, but if you’re feeling fancy, try serving them warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of peanut butter on top.

Gluten-Free 3-Ingredient Brownies
- Total Time: 35 minutes
- Yield: 9 small brownies 1x
- Diet: Gluten Free
Description
Super simple, rich, and fudgy brownies made with just 3 wholesome ingredients. Perfect for a quick gluten-free snack or dessert!
Ingredients
- 2 ripe bananas (the riper, the sweeter—brown spots are gold)
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder (good-quality cocoa makes all the difference)
- ½ cup almond butter (or any nut/seed butter you like)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a small baking dish with parchment paper. This makes cleanup a breeze!
- Mash the bananas in a mixing bowl until smooth. No lumps! You can use a fork or a potato masher.
- Stir in the cocoa powder and mix until fully combined. It’ll look like chocolate heaven already.
- Add the almond butter and mix until everything is smooth and well blended. The batter will be thick but not dry.
- Pour the batter into the lined baking dish and smooth out the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes. You’ll know it’s done when the edges pull away slightly from the sides of the pan and the top looks set.
- Let them cool completely before cutting. (Trust me—if you try to slice them hot, they’ll be gooey and fall apart.)
Notes
Use super ripe bananas for the best natural sweetness.
