by Judy Goudy

You know, when I was younger, brownies were the ultimate weekend treat. Warm, gooey, chocolatey bliss that hit the spot every time.

Fast forward to today, and I’ve got my health-conscious hat on—but that doesn’t mean I’m ready to give up on brownies.

Nope!

I just wanted something a little more nutritious without losing that chocolate punch. That’s where these Flax 4 Life Brownies come in—packed with fiber, omega-3s, and still giving you that fudgy texture we all crave.

Tips & Variations

  • Nut-free option: Swap almond flour for oat flour.
  • Extra fudgy? Add 2 tbsp of your favorite nut butter to the wet ingredients.
  • Want it sweeter? Drizzle with melted dark chocolate after baking.
  • Storage: Keep in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze for longer freshness.

Serving Suggestions

Serve these brownies warm with a dollop of whipped coconut cream or a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. Trust me, they’re perfect for satisfying any sweet tooth while keeping things nutritious.

Description

These fudgy, chocolate-packed brownies are loaded with fiber and omega-3s, making them a delicious and nutritious treat. Gluten-free, with a vegan option!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1/3 cup ground flaxseed
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs (or flax eggs for vegan)
  • 1/2 cup coconut sugar
  • 1/4 cup melted coconut oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup dark chocolate chips (plus extra for topping)

Instructions

  • Prep the oven & pan
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper or grease it lightly.
  • Mix dry ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the almond flour, ground flaxseed, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Make sure there are no clumps!
  • Combine wet ingredients
In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, then add in the coconut sugar, melted coconut oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  • Bring it together
Slowly pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Don’t overmix! Fold in the dark chocolate chips.
  • Bake it up
Pour the batter into your prepared baking dish. Sprinkle a few more chocolate chips on top for that extra touch. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean (a few crumbs are okay—you want them fudgy!).
  • Cool & slice
Let the brownies cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. Slice into 12 squares and get ready to indulge.

Notes

Use flax eggs for a vegan version. Add a handful of walnuts for a crunchy texture.
